2012 Tour

Another successful NSW and VIC Tennis Tour was held in January 2012.

Participating in the Margaret Court Championships in Albury NSW and the Wodonga Victorian Grass Court Championships in VIC.

We had a horror flight, leaving Perth at 11.50pm at night…Lining up to check in, Sean (Little Rig) remembers he has left his wallet in his mums car…so a few frantic phone calls and Mandy returns with Sean’s wallet…

We jump on the plane and expect everyone to sleep, but it’s a new Qantas plane with individual tv’s and entertainment consoles, so the kids are wired and play games and watch movies…

We arrive in Melbourne at 6am and head off to grab the busses.  We load up and head off to Albury NSW for a 11am start.

Something about the lack of sleep worked for the players as we heading into qualifying with Dylan Hillman and Bailey Bennett both winning first up. mud baths

Then each day rolled into the next with 6am starts and 7pm finishes.  Some good results from Michael Offerman in the doubles and Some awesome hitting from 10 and under Jharrod Capararo saw the little Agassi head into he final day with a semi final berth in the singles and a finals birth in the doubles.

We then headed to the lake for our usual MUD BATHS!

Then across the border to the Victorian Grass Courts and some interesting results again….The players seem to better them selves on the grass serving bigger and volleying really well!

We had a lot more wins and towards the end of the event still had 4 players left on the finals day.
Bernard, Michael, Jarrod and Marcus all had semi finals singles berths and all unfortunately went down in close matches.

Inspired by the hair straightener Dan (big rig) decides cara can staraighten his hair and went all metro for the night…the big rig from Denmark then did his best Jack Vigin impersonation and some great laughs were had by all!

Then its time to pack up and get ready for Melbourne and the Aussie Open!

We are up at 4am and drive to Melbourne to give the junior all access passes to the greatest slam of all!
Some autograph hunt, some watch the matches, some are fixated on the training…..but an awesome day out…..

Then the worst bus trip ever as SUPACOACH get lost leaving Melbourne and head over the West gate Bridge and miles away from the airport…YES very very stressfull, but we make it to the airport on time…just and the kids get settled…then whoops…Cara leaves her hand luggage at security , so its back down to pick up her broken luggage (long story)…then we sit on the tarmac for 40 mins while we wait for an intermational connecting flight!

Home in Perth safe n soud and ready to fire up for our next tour!
