Albany Tennis Academy is owned and directed by Head Coach David Kerr.
As a junior, David lived and completed all his schooling in Albany, WA and was a top tennis player and WA representative in soccer. He moved to Perth to follow his soccer career but after a shoulder reconstruction he decided to move back home to Albany focus all his experience and expertise in coaching tennis at Merrifield Park Tennis Club.
David still plays high level tennis and has success at Club, Regional and State competitions including a Top 8 Australian Ranking (for birthyear 1978) Feb 2010.
David is a Tennis Australia Development Coach and has had a lot of success in coaching and playing since 2001 including being selected as the WA Team Manager for various trips and now runs several local, State and Interstate tennis tours throughout the year.
David also runs Tennis Australia OTC coaches courses and employs local players/coaches in Part time coaching positions.
Albany Tennis Academy has grown into one of the biggest Academies in country WA and boast during peak time (summer) 3 full time coaches and 6 part time coaches.

With summer approaching we are lucky enough to add Stephen Kerr to our coaching staff (yes, my more talented brother). Steve, Kellie and their 3 kids Riley, Lilly and Kirra are moving back home to Albany in September to settle down and he joins us as an ATA Advanced Coach.
Steve has spent the last 8 years in the Air Force and is leaving to concentrate on full time tennis coaching and mentoring. He has experience Coaching Tennis in Adelaide and Canberra over the last 5 years, will be a great addition to our team.
